Training on “First Aid and Emergency Management”

On April 29–30, within the framework of the “Save Nature – Georgia” project implemented with the financial support of the Government of Sweden, a training on First Aid and Emergency Management was held for the staff of the Aragvi Protected Landscape, organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

🔸The training covered the following key topics:

▪️ Respiratory and cardiovascular systems;
▪️ DRCAB algorithms and life-saving maneuvers;
▪️ Artificial respiration and cardiac massage;
▪️ Limb injuries, fractures, proper timing and technique for using a tourniquet;
▪️ Bleeding control and dressing techniques using various types of bandages;
▪️ Frostbite, burns, and bites;
▪️ Use of a basic first aid kit;
▪️ Types of disasters, risk identification, and emergency management;
▪️ Natural hazards in Georgia and general behavioral guidelines during such events;
▪️ Forest and field fires in Georgia – prevention strategies, response teams, and coordination;
▪️ Group exercises: coordinated response in (1) forest fire and (2) field fire scenarios.

This training provided essential knowledge and practical skills to help rangers and staff respond effectively to emergencies and natural disasters.
